Welcome to the page for the Ordoga campaign. This site will hopefully simplify things for everyone. If you have any ideas, comments, or jokes feel free to post them.
I UPDATED STUFF CUZ I AM COOL!
Hey. After this I am out. From this campaign. I had fun but I feel less motivated, I don’t want to do something because of guilt, or because it’s what I’ve always done, or because everyone else is doing it. When I do that I put in half the effort with 1/3 the enthusiasm. I drag my feet, and I don’t pay attention. Eventually I just quit randomly from things with a crappy ‘personal issues’ cop out as an answer. Usually it’s a lot of little things tied to a big thing, creating a MASSIVE thing. The simplest answer I guess is that to me at least it’s “art”.
I don’t mean pictures and paintings. I mean the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination. But more importantly, it’s my passion, emotions and my wild thoughts channeled into medium that I hope others can enjoy. But unless I’m paid to do something, I also find art needs to be something I like as well. Why would I play a game or do something I don’t like every week? There are other things I can do to associate with any of you.
Getting back to my pathology and cycle. Once I determine that the I don’t want to do something, I’ll stall, get paranoid, and find excuses. Then I’ll quit once thinking “Maybe I just need a break”. So then I leave. Then 3 months go by and I join again thinking "Maybe things have changed. Maybe this time I can communicate better. Maybe so and so will be less left, and that other guy will be less right. Maybe I’ll be less up. Maybe the GM will be less down. Maybe there was never a problem to begin with, and I was just being paranoid or stubborn. Maybe I was the problem. I do like this “art” thing in general, and I like these people. Why can’t I like them together. Peanut Butter and Jelly doesn’t just become peanut butter and bologna… does it?
The key flaw is that it is ‘ART’. Passion and emotion are forces that ignore logic. Ignore everything but what they want. While temporary restrictions can make art flourish (say deciding to use only the pentatonic scale in a song, or only earth-tones in a painting), long-term restrictions can cause apathy, resentment, and a growing hunger for more than what you have.
I hunger for my logic and passion to be somewhat separate.
Games like Risk, Axis and Allies, Star Wars Minis, Tactical RPGs (like Final Fantasy Tactics, Vandal Hearts, and Fire Emblem) are all logic games. I love playing them. I love coming up with squads, strategies, and watching in anticipation as the dice rolls. I love getting in my enemies head, testing them, feinting, and plotting all paranoid-like that they might know more than me. I love the recreation, the short lived thrill of taunting an opponent, the laughter as either of our grand schemes fall apart, and the knowledge that someone wins, looses, or draws and WHY. I like that while I play I am cut-throat, military minded and organized: but after the game is over I let it go and become crazy, scatterbrained Trevor.
Table-top role playing games to me seem less about rolls, and rules, and stats. They are important to establish control, direction, and boundaries. To prevent chaos by giving structure because chaos usually results in entropy. Sure, power gaming CAN be appropriate in certain application but from my perspective it needs to be balanced. Would my character logically pick this ability or power? (if no, just stop there) If yes, will this make my character significantly more powerful than the weakest player and/or character? (If so, maybe I should help them first. Consider exploring a different aspect of my character). Off course sometimes your character is a Mandolor The Hopeful, or a Sith wannabe. Ok thats cool. But the last question is this: Will this be so awesomely insane that it will make the GM’s job difficult?
If the answer is YES, your asking for the GM to plot against you specifically. Not the team, but your guy. The GM is supposed to be impartial. I get that, but even the most nurturing GM’s see certain combinations of abilities and just think “woo-hoo, checkin the core rule book 3-4 more times a game! checking other books 2-3 more times! Arguing semantics! Interpreting rules in a way that doesn’t make him a god but still gives him some power because none of the rule books are ultra clear in a super definitive way! Knowing that this will be argument of discussion almost every game or every 3 games or so!” I really hate sarcasm. But those are generally the thoughts I’ve had a few times while GMing. I probably caused a GM or 2 suffering a few times in the name of "it’s in the rule book (s)!’ I’ll admit. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned from Min Lo, it’s that too many rules create Lawyers. Ohh I’m sure there are a couple Legit Lawyers out there, but most of them are probably going to the hell I don’t believe in! I will see them there.
I guess I’m RANTING. But to me (trevor) I prefer make-believe. Any time Min-Lo ‘stymied’ without at least attempting a witty remark or distracting use of his lightsaber, I felt like I was letting EVERYONE down, not just myself. Bard was whinny because Bard felt forced, coerced, and like he didn’t have any control in his life, he literally felt like a pawn on a board. Trykk Melan was a brat/playboy billionaire who soon found himself an outlaw with nowhere to go, so what did he do? He joined the rebellion out a little spite at the empire for betraying him, a need to have some kind of social structure and fact that the empire was hunting him down and he had nowhere else to go but possibly organized crime. Not GOOD reasons for joining but after staying with the rebels, he had friends like Sean Connery and Joe the Sniper. He found he could be a nice guy. He was still a little vane, a tad greedy, and maybe a bit too GQ, but I loved playing him. Sure, all these characters may have had flaws, may have been annoying, may have been a bit contentious… but I enjoyed being them far more than I enjoyed figuring out their stats or crushing enemies in battle. Every time Bard killed, a part of him died inside. When Min Lo put down his light saber when those children where held hostage he hated himself because he knew that it would only put others in danger, that if any enemy ever found out he did that, they would just start abducting children left and right and use them as meat shields. That he had to detach himself as a Jedi, that his emotions got the best of him.
Well my emotions got the best of me. Eventually I’ll quit. Then return because I don’t want to hurt anyones feelings. Because I know I can’t crack the code of what it is to be a team player with this group. I am the problem. I had fun, but just can’t live up to what I think you guys want. So why lead you on. I thank you for the fun. But I need to split after the citadel. That way I can still be friends with you.
You should take that for a skill that no one has but we all could use, like Use Computer, or Swim!
Just so long as your untrained, of course.
Oh man, i’m totally taking Mission Specialist: Deception. Now you all get +2 to your deception checks when within 12 squares of me!
Min Lo will help Ryan (and anyone not present) into getting there to help the party. I honestly dont remember who was there… definately not Owen wilson
luke is a fart. that is all.
Alright, I posted Eric’s character on the Saga Edition index, he will have to look it over and give the final approval since i’m not sure if he wants to keep stymie or not, also i gave him improved defensees since im not sure what his level 9 feet is, he can pick that out himself too. he ends up with a 31 reflex defense though, that’s cool.
also ryan smells.
i’m pretty amazed that we played a night without any combat, go team!
also in regards to the dagger mode i didnt see any negative affect for rolling a 1, is this true?
also i posted the character for eric, though i need to run through the def. scores
I am in the bahamas and will be until at least saturday. Count me out but Jon can play my character if he is up to it. I’ll make sure he is up to date
HEY! Lets play at my place on Friday! I’ll be awesome! To the MAX!
Only if you cover your ears with your hands and go “nannanananana I can’t hear you”
So just to make sure I’m clear about this, the Knights of the Old Republic book indicates that Sonic damage is treated like energy damage in every way BUT it cannot be blocked. Correct?
According to the errata wording it would appear that accessing a battlestrike would start an initiative. It’s that simple. Chronologically it could only exist for 12 seconds according to those rules as well because a round is 6 seconds.
Also correct me if I’m wrong but it seems the Battlestrike rules per the errata are as follows…
96 – Battle Strike Change the DC 15 text to: “Gain a +1 Force bonus on your next attack roll made before the end of your next turn and deal an additional 1d6 points of damage if the attack hits.”
So is it really possible to ready a battlestrike before combat begins and retain the battlestrike at a later time? For example if Chase readies a Battlestrike upon seeing some bad guys, then on his next turn he moves up to a more advantageous position but doesnt actually make an attack, then he would lose out on that Battlestrike. Correct?
War Bow (Edited) Double Strength Mod to Damage, take an additional -2 penalty to any additional attacks made with it until start of next turn. This would effect AOOs as well as Rapid Shot, Double Attack, Triple Attack and abilities that allow for a character to make an attack out of turn.
Volley of Arrows (edit) As a full round action, a character wielding a Bow may make an area attack at a -5 penalty against a 2×2 target within Point Blank Range, on a hit the attack deals 3d6 damage (half damage on a miss). You may fire at a target at Short or Medium Range for an additional -2 attack, the targeted area also increases by 1 square for each increment (3×3 and 4×4).
Oh BTW, Max’s credit count is current $144,380.00 after _his _gear purchases… yeah… party at my place.
I like all but the War Bow. Double is a bit much, and it should be harder to aim. I would say it bumps it up a die (d6 to d8) and you take a -2 to attack (the war bow is meant to do more damage, but in return, its harder to pull the string back to full strength, and makes aiming a lot harder. I would remove the the penalty to hit if you have a really high Str mod tho)
I thought I’d share this link with y’all, it’s a handy resource for creating characters on the go. Not too flashy for material/information/images but it does contain all the hard data (feats, talents, races, classes, prestige classes) needed.
I recall my comment about it being a feat.
Hey speaking of HA! What do you think of the below weapon templates OR creating a Bow Master Feat, similar to how the pistoleer and riflemaster feats work.
Compound Bow – Simple Weapon – Treat as Accurate, +1 attack when aiming – Cost $400
Supposedly these bows are the most accurate ones arround, I thought the above things would be appropriate.
War Bow – Simple Weapon – Double STR Mod to attack and damage – Cost $600
It was noted that a War Bow when bent would resemble more of a half circle than a “D” and could take double the pressure of a standard bow.
Short Bow – Simple Weapon – Inaccurate. Reduce penalty for Rapid Shot by 1, and full round attacks by 2. Cost $300
The Short Bows allowed for more elbow room and were often used by horsemen, they also allowed for more rapid fire since the bow gets pulled less, the downfall is they have less range.
Longbow – Simple Weapon – Increase damage die by 1 step, on a crit increase by 2.
This would be the standard bow but i figured i’d throw the description in just in case you decided this would be better off as a feat than just individual bow qualities.
hey look everyone! Luke wants the party to fight a flock of rabid Sith Wurms! On the night the Golems shut down, and the derriphan celebrate Hannukah. While a miasma of locusts attack and Min Lo turns into a Trogdor and starts meta-gaming and killing everyone that made fun of him.
and all i hear is a GM that can’t find the time to create more unique items! HA! touche’.
actually the claymore was nicely done.
and it would probably add +2 to any CHA based checks against hipsters and indie rockers.
i think i already do lose items and gear, Rorryk got all his gear stolen. Ja’besh had his rifle taken from him, until he took it back. Max Gentleman got his luxurious clothing thrown off a cliff. I’m just thinking of that Neverwinter Nights game where you could get a (adjective) (noun) of (adjective or verb ending in ing). Like an Epic Scarf of Warmth = +2 Fort against cold weather. HA!
All I hear is someone who doesn’t appreciate the things they do have! Someone sounds like they want to occasionally LOSE ITEMS and GEAR as punishment for insolence!
i would like to see new sets of weapons, armor and equipment turned out every so often as rewards. things that give small boosts to a specific stat/skill would be neat. like that light-side short sword i created way back when, or a suit of light armor that had a Force Shield power built into it.
I hereby vote Trevor for gamemaster. Lol.
I have people and places and stuff to execute! Temples and Pyramids! and Mine Shafts! And old characters seeking revenge and/or honor! Caas! CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS! And dimensional stuff and MC ESCHER AND GAS! POISNOUS GAS! and HOLOCRONS and evil bad guys and suicidal tendancies and monsters and wheels and mecha badguys! And a Valkerie and vikings and plot twists… and… explosions, but if your tough you won’t look at them.
I might be able to GM friday…
I would like to point out that all mockery made by me is absurdist and through a roundabout way often a compliment. ALSO, the new “My Little Pony” was partially created by many of the staff members of “Power Puff Girls”. The modern MLP is amazing and anyone who mocks me for it, is mocking friendship… and rainbows… and I think I have feelings now…
Should I start poking holes in your theory that your a better GM now? Or in two months when you can actually run a game? Oh yeah, I went there!
So here are our options people, we can ret-con the dramatic conclusion of our last game to make an opening so that someone other than Trevor can GM a game since he’s going to be to busy playing with dolls and watching my little pony, or we can wait 1 or 2 more weeks since next weekend Ryan, maybe Andy and I won’t be around, as in 2 weeks I have my district convention.
In other news I promoted you to GM Trevor.
Yo Jon I need GMING PRIVELEGES! and I also would like to point out I cant GM this week.
Added in a NEW Wiki entry. Please take a look at it and let me know if you have any questions comments or concerns.
Yeah, I could remove a couple of things seeing as how recent events have gone. But for the time being I’m going to leave it alone. After the next game I’ll have more free time since I’m going to be relieved of Game Mastering Duties. I can try to get this site caught up with as much as I can remember from the last few games.
are you going to update the Wiki Page?
you dont like the name Max Gentleman? cmon, it’s a mans name. like Max Weinberg or Max Power, combined with the classy style of “Gentleman”. Max Gentleman is both a Man’s Man and a Ladies Man! or should i say… mon! HAHAHA
Your not even trying Luke, not at all.
correction to my last post, his name will be Max Gentleman. named after an email in my Spam folder.
so i’m not sure on my new dudes name, def subject to change. but one thing i do know, is he is awesome.
someone has been slacking with keeping the battle log updated…
I did 24 damage on a crit with climbinb claws!!! I’M WOLVERINE!!!
i bet, that and my attack isn’t too high from ranged right now.
I don’t know if you caught it, but the turrets in the last fight were used for that exact purpose. They did support fire to lower your teams reflex save so the commando’s and Scorpion could shoot you.
That tactic works really well, especially if your fighting someone wearing medium combat armor that has armored and improved armor defense.
and i forgot about combining fire, i might do that next time myself
Just my two cents, if you want shorter combat encounters, that’s a two way street. If people go right for the bad guys and work together, they would get taken down a lot faster.
From what I remember about last night, we were all having fun making jokes in between and whatnot, and there were a fair amount of distractions. Take those things away and the encounter would have gone faster. It wasn’t planned out to be a long battle.
and by shorter encounters i dont mean easier, just shorter. NPCs with less HP but lethal attack combos. im a bit turned off by these long encounters that take what seems like an hour to finish.
i’d like to see shorter combat encounters
I completely support Ben being tactical leader. He seems to have a good head for that. I’ll be glad to help out with that as well.
maybe ben’s character will end up taking a tactical role, does anyone else want to take up a strategist view?
Maybe the party would benefit if someone with even a minor handle on tactics would offer some direction during combat.
Last time Scorpion was a major threat, but he had backup. Remove the backup and then gang up on him, or ignore the backup and take him down first. Either strategy can work. Although knowing how the rolls turn out half of the time the least amount of people your fighting the better.
Just something for you guys to think about.
i would bank on us not teaming up and coordinating since it rarely happens, that would require the party to work together and really focus on what’s going on. in my opinion, until the party is able to put down the phones, books and reduce the off-topic discussion we will not be able to work together like the NPC mooks that we’re fighting.
So I’ve been second guessing myself since the last game. I didn’t think that encounter would be to difficult, but it was a mess. I think to balance things I’ll maybe limit how well the NPC’s co-ordinate unless they have a leader that’s a noble, or is good with tactics.
But I think if the strategy was there, and Buck got better rolls and went after the armored leader, it could have gone a lot better. It also didn’t help that I kept rolling really high. I might only use my favorite D20 during major boss battles.
I would like to suggest you guys think about how you can work together to clear a room. I’ve just about always been able to tag up with Ryan in combat and do some decent damage. I think if at least two of you had some tag team move ideas it could really enhance your power level. I want you guys to be over 9000!
Talked to Buck via email and he says that he thinks it would be better if we stick with star wars. We have a new potential player coming in and Buck thinks it would be better to get him used to one system before we jump into another one.
We only need feedback from Andy and I think that will be everyone.
even better, that way the next time i play his character template nobody will link the two Ja’besh’s together!
More likely one of the wookies from the island construct recognized him and word started to circulate, then there would be a lot of people who would want to kill him. Including Roryyk.
So two votes for Gamma world and one for Star Wars. Now we need to hear from Andy, and Buck.
i’d like to go to gamma world, i’ll also be retiring the Ubese character, turns out he was just a halucination to everyone.
So what does everyone want to do? We can continue the star wars campaign or we can follow Trevor into Gamma World. I know next to nothing about the system so I can’t say one thing or another, but everyone should be able to voice their opinions on whether we switch or not. Ryan prefers Star Wars, but he said that if this is a side thing he would be up for it, but not for it to be a replacement.
I just want us all to have a good time. So if everyone wants to switch to Gamma world I would be totally cool with that. An unprepared and disorganized Trevor can put on some amazing sessions, so imagine how good he’ll be if he sticks to his word and actually starts planning the sessions out? But if everyone decides that they want to keep to Star Wars I’m totally fine with that as well.
I await to hear the councils decision.
Well, it’s truly up to Jon. I’m not demanding you guys stop playing the current Saga campaign. What I would like, if John permits, and everyone is all on board… let him him wrap up what he has. And when he’s done. Get the Chrono Broke ball rollin’! Of course if John wants tot continue his story, I totally support him in that decision. I don’t want to railroad him. I know he has a lot of fun and invested a lot of time into the story. So I guess, that if John wants to end the Ordoga Saga, that’s cool. And I’ll wait till then and continue in the campaign as Min Lo. But if he wants to indefinitely keep going. Then I’m going to start soon (like 2 weeks? Three the latest.) Hopefully there won’t be any hard feelings if that happens. I guarantee though, that if whether Jon joins up or not, I WILL start actually taking notes and planning things rather than just winging it. In the mean time, if any of you are on board, I’d like to get your characters created ASAP. You can reach me on facebook or skype.
and is this replacing jon/trevor sessions or is this in addition?
I don’t understand half of what Trevor is talking about, but it should be at the very least a wild ride.
my characters only crit if there is a hot chick involved =)
so, i don’t know anything about Gamma World and I don’t really know where this leaves Jon’s campaign though I think it still keeps it running the same course. Is this going to be an online game thing or in person?
I HAVE A SUPER SAD ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE!
I know I said I wanted to run a Vong Campaign. It was foolish of me. I have failed you all. Alas I cannot run the campaign. At least in Star Wars.
Because I cannot slave to 2 masters.
It all began when I got the INTERNET on my computer running again. It hit me! Why not try to make money from my natural creativity and ability to bend people to my indomitable will? IN FACT, why not try to profit from the GAME? I know, it sounds ambitious. Even a little ludicrous at times. But lets face it. The INTERNET is changing media daily. The paradigm shift in technology is occurring in a way that allows small independent little groups with new ideas to flourish. Unfortunately, this is a SMALL window of opportunity. Within 3-5 years that window will be closed, the opportunity lost. Whether the government chokes the INTERNET (it’s already happening), bigger corporate industries learn to adapt (that may take longer), or flood of competition gets so large that we get diluted, or as Murphy’s law would predict ALL THREE, the window is closing. I intend on getting through the window before it happens.
I hate to be difficult, but I want to attempt to form this into a loose small business. I mean I want ALL of us to get paid. I know it might not seem like it cant take off, and it may take a few months before it really develops but I have to try. I’m not looking for super mega fame and fortune, I just want to be able to get paid for being creative. It’s been my dream since I was like… sentient. It’ll take time, but if anyone can pull off something as crazy and creative and epic as this, then I’m the guy thats gonna do it. I obviously know I can’t do it alone, but I know that if I’m captain of the ship we’ll find the treasure. At the VERY least, we’ll go on a really awesome fishing trip. Probably catch a salmon or something.
Which leads me to the fact that running this off of Star Wars is just asking for a law suite. Plus I want to base the world in a different setting. Still Sci-Fi. I’ve plotted a lot. And the story is not what it seems. Don’t take anything at face value. Also, I want to be up-to-date. Not using a system that is considered 3.5 when a 4.2 exists. It sounds stupid, but we have to adapt. Adapting is part of being human. If you don’t move forward, your moving back.
I can’t tell you in this post exactly everything that I’m going to do (although I do have most of it planned out). But it’s large in scope. It’s not JUST about the game. It’s about breaking the conventional idea of what a story is.
I know that some of you may not want to do this. Some of you might even think it crazy. Maybe you think it will fail hardcore. Or maybe you even think it morally wrong to want to profit from fun and call me a “sellout” with some kind of romantic punk rock rhetoric. Maybe your scared it will turn into a death machine. Or maybe you just view the game as something simple and don’t want to complicate it.
I totally respect those opinions. I disagree. But I respect them. I understand if you don’t want to join me in this endeavor. And maybe you’ll eventually change your mind or maybe you wont.
I just want you guys to know that I want you there. I want to fit you guys into this. I want to have fun, and laugh and make stupid jokes about why it seems crits only happen after the enemy is severely beaten and on his last leg. I don’t want to change much but the system. I want to run a campaign on 4th edition Gamma World.
It’s called Chrono Broke. I’m going to send you all invitations. I won’t feel hurt if you decline. I really have to thank all of you for the fun times we’ve had. But I need to do this. It’s been an honor GMing Saga in the past, but that chapter has ended.
I may continue playing as a character in the future but for the time being I’d like to focus on this. I hope that even if you don’t fully understand, you know that this decision was not made lightly. Nor was it made out of distaste for any of the players or GM’s. In the end, whether you choose to join this quest or not, I hope you all find the crit in life you all deserve.
Trevor Howard Marvell
i’d like to play an anti-hero campaign sometime, not that we’re killing everyone, but at least a group of people that aren’t primarily concerned about saving the galaxy as they are earning cash and killing the criminal scum/law officers that are competing with/chasing after us.
so who is playing online this friday night? me and jon?
I was planning on running two or three more sessions to finish things up.
YAY! not my problem anymore, i just gotta show up with dice and a character sheet
YAH! Am I GMing? I’m confused
i should be available for it
My place friday?
or who have severe technical difficulties with google =)
glad it went well, looking forward to next game whether online or off.
It went alright actually. And now I’ll be better prepared for next time. We did the game via google chat. Next time around it might be trickier if more people are involved who don’t have a Gmail account.
so how did the PbP game go?
blehhhhhh to jon
blehhhhhh to trevor
I just found out friday and saturday are bad for me this week. Sorry dudes.
So you can metagame some more? You wanna know about Johnathon, F.O.I.G!Find out in game!
and still the bio sections go un-updated. POST SOME CHARACTER DETAILS YOU SLACKERS!
you can’t profit from it since the adventure log is free. you CAN do it here, just post some guidelines to how it will all go down, maybe google for some info on play by post. im getting my wisdom teeth out and will be unavailable all weekend, jon has his ma coming over friday, ryan is working sunday and buck is working friday/saturday.
everyone’s availability is all over the place this weekend. I don’t know who’s free for a game.
WHERE ARE WE PLAYING THIS WEEK!??!?!?!?!
Well… Wait.. can’t we just… do it in here? What are the pro’s the con’s and how can I profit from this?
So, Luke said he wanted to try a PbP(play by post) game. If we were to all split the cost of a year long subscription on here, thats 40 bucks, it would only be like 7 bucks a person. If we wanted to give it a try, I would be willing to pay 5 bucks for us to try it out for a month. When we have a premium account, we could set up the games in the forum. What do you guys think?
I thought about that, but despite my evil tendancies I try to actually create stories and scenarios that the players will enjoy. WHY? Because I’m an extrovert. I need the attention. Doing something like that leads to players quiting and stuff. It’s actually in MY best interest to keep the players happy.
trevor: is that just a guise to get me to burn my feats and talents on starship abilities?
Heck Yeah, theres gonna be sooooooo many exploding vehicles your brain will implode from glee!
When and if I take over again after Trevor is done I have some ship combat ideas I want to use. But that’s going to be a far away thing.
Trevor: Are we going to have any vehicular combat? I’m creating another character who is a relative of Lorac Tims and if Ja’besh falls into a bottomless pit I want to be prepared for either Jo’besh or Nilay Tims but I don’t want to waste any feats on starship/vehicular abilities if they wont be there.
Correction: Ja’besh doesn’t want friends, he just wants to blow up a small section of civilization.
Can you guys add some details to your bio? i see your battle stats and all but im looking for personality. Ja’besh, in case you haven’t noticed, isn’t much of a talker and isn’t good with people and communicating. he came looking for Drayken since Drayken’s people were kicking a lot of butt and raising the body count, but then Drayken turned out to be some nutso and Ja’besh was a bit disappointed. Rorryk was a tough guy that was ready to help and knows the language but alas Rorryk needs to bring justice to the recent wookie slayings.
Which leaves poor Ja’besh in an awkward position, so update your Bios in order for Ja’besh to get an idea of who he’s dealing with. His perception is pretty nuts so he’d be able to make his own little analysis in his head of what you guys are like. Then Ja’besh will have made a bond with someone who will purchase his equipment in urban areas and he in turn will assist with keeping them safe.
If you’re a force user =p
We could, but they also have some fan created races and even some force traditions and talent trees. Pretty cool
Loose index indeed, BUT it does have some fan-created abilities around there along with fan created items and stats for characters. It takes a little while to get familiar with it, but it is a nice fan site. alternatively we could continue to make our own suggestions.
What would you like to see implemented? I looked around and it pretty much looked like a loose index for the books.
Its got some user generated stuff. Not bad tho, maybe we could start implementing it?
i never really had any problems with fences or bulk heads, just a car door. so i’m looking forward to these big ugly guys.
Today I finished statting and rolling up the next batch of NPC’s for the next game. Then I thought about what it will be like for you guys to fight them….
my face: http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/1760/hugetroll.png
cool, let me know cuz i couldnt really figure out what it would be. i’m thinking it would be the vaccuum seals upgrade to lock out the effects of the air outside and then use the existing helmet. though i’ve yet to find another suit of armor that i like better, i would like to know what hoops im going to need to jump through.
I would guess spend upgrade slots. I’ll have to do some reading in the upgrade section of scum and villainy and the index and get back to you.
question: i’m wearing an environment suit and a breath mask/voice modulator built in to what i’m assuming is the helmet. what options do i have for other armor? if i wanted to wear neo-crusader armor, what would i have to do to cover my environmental items?
That requires another level of soldier, and I’m not positive if that would be the level that would get me another talent. Two levels of soldier to get that talent would interupt the build, although having persuasion would help the character. Johnathon is a walking howitser(Giant gun) who’s dangerous with a blade, and even more dangerous with his force powers. For me to continue with his build to tighten up his combat weak points, I need at least a couple more levels of Force Adept so I can get primitive block(flesh out my defense) and another force technique(either improved force lightning or force power mastery) Two levels of soldier would interupt the build as of now, but I can’t go into force Disciple until level 13, so I might fit it in later on.
or jonathon could take it along with that Commanding Presence that Rorryk took which makes Persuasion a class skill. I think it would fit his character.
and you can haggle the price of goods untrained =)
Perception it is. This is loosely based off of the guide in the Rebellion Era book where it discusses teaching people specific aspects of a skill.
and cool. maybe we can rotate fridays/saturdays
Saturday’s are fine with me.
If it’s a perception check I should use the book. I have a 99% chance of hitting DC20, but I don’t have persuasion……
Oh, and I hate to do this. But I mentioned that the stats for those 2 items weren’t visible to me for some reason so I’d get back to you to double check.
The climbing boots that trevor got give him a +2 to climb, +2 to endurance for the purpose of marching or running and such but not to ignore hunger/thirst or hold his breath. Also the +2 jump is incorrect, but it does reduce the running start requirement from 4 squares to 3 squares due to the excellent traction. resale value is 1200 credits.
The traders book that ryan got has 8 uses and can be used once per day, each use gives him +2 on haggle checks. after the 8th use, make a perception check DC20. If successful, you retain the +2 bonus and can treat the DC as 1 step less (unfriendly goes to indifferent, indifferent goes to friendly, friendly goes to helpful). If you succeed on a DC25 perception you also reduce the modifier of the cost by 1 step (illegal to military, military to restricted, restricted to licensed). resale value of 2200 credits.
the weapon modification for jonathon is correct as stated, resale value is 1800 credits
the suit of armor heather found is correct as stated, resale value is 1600 credits
i’m going to get this topic back on topic of star wars before trevor gets another restraining order. what do we want to do about scheduling? heather and i just discussed this… (“hey heather, would you be ok with doing a saturday game every so often?”, “yeah thats fine”). so maybe every so often we could do a saturday game? i personally like the friday games since it transitions my day straight from work to play. sundays weve been doing some food shopping and stuff since our meeting is so late in the day but saturday is still our errand and togetherness day. but now that we RPG together it sorta counts, at least in the skewed vision of the husband.
I think though protest too much. Maybe, Jon is a a vampire just biding his time waiting till all the players actually manage to meet for one super mega game and then Ka-Pow! We’re all food! Ohh the horror. But worry not other gamers, I will protect you from his machinations by wearing cloves of garlic to EVERY game, and remember, #2 pencils are technically wooden stakes… although it may take more than one to kill him. Don’t be fooled, Jon is a bat in sheep’s clothing. I’m calling Blade… or Deadpool…
Perhaps we shouldn’t kill Jon with pitch forks. I mean he IS an active player. Maybe we can reform him like The Count from Sesame Street. Teach him to channel his blood lust towards other things like teaching children numbers or mocking the FCC? I dunno… but until further notice Jon is on super secret double-decker ultra-violet probation.
The basic thing that you can do is to read the recaps to keep up with the story. Beyond that it will probably be up to Trevor since I’m only going to be running a few more sessions until he takes over for his campaign. What happens after that is anyone’s guess.
No telling when my work schedule will improve, so does anybody have any suggestions on what I/we can do to keep me from missing out on game after game like I have been?
So I guess this isn’t a bad time to share my view on Vampires. I usually don’t talk about them since there is no reason to, but this is a half decent opportunity to clear the air.
Vampires are established as being creatures that are connected to the occult, on that plane alone I avoid them. I don’t watch anything knowing that Vampires are involved. While there are many folk tales and origin stories, one of them says that the first vampire originated from a “Reverse exorcism”.
But say that’s a modern story and it’s untrue, it doesn’t matter because they feed on blood. There are very few commandments that Jehovah left for us, most are principles and guidelines. There are a couple of flat out rules left for us, and one of them is abstain from blood. That being the case why would I watch a movie series, or read a book series about a pack of creatures that sustain their life by consuming blood, one of the things that Jehovah commanded us to abstain from so as to establish it’s sacredness for when his only begotten son poured out his blood in a sacrifice to redeem mankind? Simple, I wouldn’t. In the past I was invited to a party that the theme was to watch a Vampire series, and I have heard rumors that the main character was a “sparkly” one. I respectfully declined. While there was a time when I didn’t know any better and did watch those types of movies, those days are long gone.
So in short, no, I don’t like sparkly vampires. I don’t like vampires of any shape or form.
Slams down gavel, and walks out of courtroom
Well it seems my vile plan too… besmirch, Jon? has been thwarted. But I would like to point out that he never actually DENIED liking sparkly vampires. That’s not slander (just harmfully misguiding propaganda)! So until I see a three page article explaining why he doesn’t, I’m going to believe he does. Why? Because I’m an American, and I have the right to believe whatever I want no matter how irrational. It’s in the constitution… or bill of rights… or… maybe I just heard Glen Beck say it… I dunno… But anyways, Jon or John or Jean, or Jahn or however you spell his name will continue in my mind to be a sparkley vampire lover until he proves himself innocent. I know in the court systems of America your innocent until proven guilty, but hey, I don’t wear black robes and the state of Massachusetts won’t let me have a hammer of any size due to a court order involving priest and rabbi (don’t ask). So until Massachusetts Supreme Court Justice Roderick L. Ireland decides to forgo his restraining order against me, and until John buy’s me black judge robes I am going to believe what I know to be true. Beacuse thats what Captain America fought the Nazi’s for; so I could anger the GM with my wild imagination.
Thank You Captain America, I assure you that while I plan on killing Batman, you are NOT on my enemies list, and never will be.
Game at my place at 6. We’ll work out the parking as people get here, but there should be plenty.
Lets play somewhere else than trevor’s. The snow is evil.
Trevor, you gotta get Min-Lo Brilliant Defense. Add your Int mod to your reflex def = awesome. and tactical savvy to add your int mod to allies force points.
Also. i don’t think minlo is a stick in the mud, he’s probably the most likely one to party in our party. i’d imagine him and sobrask be pickin up chicks all the time, if sobrask was still around.
this one has the wlhelm scream! Im gonna keep this on hand for when Jon does the next few games
my dad has the same kinda thing going on in revere. there was one guy who actually came in during the book study to yell at everyone to move their cars.
40 riverside street, it looks like a big stone house from the front. PARK on white street. DO NOT park in my driveway. There are signs where you can’t park. So if you see a big placard in front of someones house don’t park there. People in Lowell get really psycho if you do. I believe you can also get towed. I fear the people more. People with those signs think they are GOD of the parking space. IF you park there, I will not back you up. Don’t worry though, the signs are huge, you have to be a moron or Hellen Keller to miss them. So park on White Street. I live in the fortress, and if you park in front of a placard… I hate you THIIIIIIIIISSS much!
pretty lame. you’ll need to provide your address to.
Yes! But parking is off street on white street. Park as far from the house as possible on the left side. YEAH I know its lame, carpool if possible.
does friday work?
Ok so this is my Blog. I know it’s lame but I plan on posting more stuff in the future thats awesome.
Hey everyone! Lets play at Trevor’s house this week! Roger is gone and I welcome you all to my CAVE OF NO RETURN!
It’s actually a podcast… that gets raunchier as it goes on. and why would I do that? because, I’m EVIL~! BOOOSH!
Telling us to listen to a song with swearing in it!?
OOPS. DONT! IGNORE MY LAST POST. There is apparently cursing… i jumped the gun
Play the track 1 audio mp3
i think Min-Lo has earned a place in everyones heart and will go down in history as one of the most memorable characters. next to Drayken the crazy pirate man, Lorac the duros anti-hero and Strythus: initiative roll “blaster cannon + shoulder rocket pods = you die”. MinLo, “i believe YOURE a health code violation”. all the other characters i think are memorable and sweet but i think those are the characters that made the biggest impact.
not to forget the nimble trandoshan Sobrask, the wookie that accidentally tried to kill his party members multiple times before turning a new leaf Rorryk and the man that tried to pick up anything with at least 1 leg and a pulse/power cell Sean Connery.
I finally got to use my immunity to the vacuum of space! Tiberius might outsmart me, or kill me, but it’s alright. I have lived the dream… the dream of fighting in the vacuum of space… the dream of being the nasty gnat of death and destruction… the dream of riding a homicidal space station and taunting it towards destruction! Remember that when yo u play, live the dream. Always stare into the abyss with a fearless smile and a laugh of contempt. Because if you look hard enough and believe in your dreams, you’ll notice that the abyss flinches. Maybe nobody else will, but you will, and knowing you stood up against the darkness and made it quiver with fear… it is a delicious taste few men ever get to sample. But even then, dont just taste it, savor it. Savor and return for secounds. Taunt the darkness! Consume it, or it will consume you._
i think you should come up with your own lordly name, i like lord murriano.
no he went from lord cronal to blackhole
how about lord murriano
When I become a disciple can I get a cool name like Lord Cronal? He’s know as Blackhole.
Don’t forget to update characters!
It figures that I missed the game that had actual combat. The more I think about it the more irritated I am. Last time I was there all we did was walk around, I wasted a good 6 natural 20’s.
3 force points? and six hours rest? Yeah sure, and while I’m at it, why don’t i give you my first born son child and power of attorney over my entire estate. NO, I will keep deception, and not only that, you will rue… RUE giving me such a backhanded offer. I will use deception to the MAX, yes… bad juju you have caused… much suffering you will know… and not just you… but the party… all will suffer at the hands of deception!!!! You will wish you did not taunt me with such a cruel offer. WOE to the 4 corners of the star wars universe… yes… let the sufferring begin… Mhmmm… Much evil you have caused… mumble mumble the ending of crouching tiger hidden dragon makes no sense mumble I will poisen you all with LIES! LIES and DECIET, and TREACHERY. The end of games is near.
also, to make it easier, if you wouldnt mind putting UPDATED on your character profile next to the items you update so i can see what was added.
spend 3 force points and 6 hours of rest and i will let you swap out 1 or 2 trained skills for the other, the skills would have to be accessible from your starting level unless you used a skill training to get them.
http://darthsanddroids.net/episodes/0232.html read this page, then the next page of the comic. It makes me happy to know that all gamers and GM’s fear/loathe grappling rules as much as I do regardlesss of the system
Sweet… I level up… hardcore… I AM A JEDI KNIGHT! I’m gonna go update my stuff…. again… woot! Now the only problem is finding a talent that matches Min Lo. Any suggestions? Also I get to boost 2 stats… I was thinking wisdom and intelligance…. But I’d like to hear from the party before making any decisions on that kinda stuff.
Ok so I think that we need to re-evaluate the skill sets of our party… I’d be more than willing to transfer one of my skills to use computer if the GM would allow but that still leaves us without a mechanic. I don’t believe I’ve actually used deception as of yet, and I’m a pretty bad liar in real life so I’m not even sure I’d know WHEN or HOW to use it if I could. Yeah so… you know… mechanic… I swear, we have like 8 people with initiave and no mechanic… we need to start making new characters responsibly. That being said, if Luke introduces a skill challenge that involves both SWIMMING and/or RIDE, I’m gonna choke him with a D20 while pretending to be Darth Vader using force grip.
Can I have a cortosis piggy bank? You know, filled with little black krayt dragon pearls?
i wasnt going to be the first to say it =) but yes thats a great idea.
if it can just be the characters that are currently in the Ordoga campaign that would probably help.
Maybe we should clean the PC section of the character tab up a little by changing all characters that aren’t in play right now to NPCs?
yeah, like the last time… man that was miserable. Rorryk now has a backup-stash at the base where he keeps all his stuff in the event of an emergency. Mainly consisting of a scatter gun/bayonet, shells, all-temp cloak, some med gear and a good amount of credits. Rorryk has a whole bunch of equipment and credits which he claims to have found from his return from the island of slaves, he claims its his since hes been carrying it.
I was pretty sure that Rorryk left his money back at the base so it wouldn’t get lost in case he got killed.
Well I mean Rorryk has the stick, back at the Warehouse. We’re not gonna get the droid on the island I suspect so we’ll have Sobrask’s money when we go to buy it.
When you guys went to the island, he left some of his stuff behind. Including his credit stick. Didn’t you leave some stuff behind as well?
Actually he gave all his stuff to Roryyk so unless he gave the stuff to Drayken, he still has it. Thats including his credit stick
Party droid is great, now all we need is money. To bad Sobrask didn’t pass his credit stick to anyone, Drayken just got CRAAAAZY rich. He’s got all of Strythus and Sobrasks cash. I should have started playing as him again.
Between me and Ryan we have combat covered like crazy, although given how I was rolling at the last game, I’m probably going to be rolling crazy low for a while. It was fun while it lasted.
i like the idea of having a party droid myself. thought i wont be able to use him anytime soon it seems like something that could have a bit more personality than the herglic shell while still providing the function, and i think the party can usually handle their own in most combat situations.
In the end Ja’eel was a bro, something nice should be done for him after all the horror’s we went through.
One of the things I’m hoping to do before Trevor takes over is some more story stuff with Ja’eel.
I think I kinda see where you’re heading but I’m not entirely sure
There is another option, but it will involve pain, suffering, combat, and testing your steel against the unknown.
I could submit an option to Luke to see what he says, but it will probably have to wait until I’m running the games again. It involves Ja’eel.
Party NPC so he’s directly involved in our encounters.
I mean maybe we could have him repaired and upgrade a few of his systems? He would be a total cyborg right? Being a total cyborg we could upgrade everything but his processor I think. Maybe try to keep him back during combat so that we don’t technically have to share experience but pull him out in skill challenges. I mean since he is an NPC technically he would tally that experience and gain levels I think and correct me if I’m wrong. But he would be a nice asset to us in skill challenges.
That or we could go for a brand new droid
Oh, on the droid thing yeah lets dump some money into getting a droid.
I handed the reigns over to Luke and didn’t think about some of the smaller details that were involved. Hergie made it out alive, but he got jacked up by Malice’s Dormov form.
Never said he couldn’t. But since we lost that guy whom I’ve never heard of wink wink and Luke is GMing we don’t have a mechanic or a computer nerd I mean specialist…yeah lets go with that. Having a droid at least semi accessible to us for when we go into a mission where we think we might need different skills would be really helpful
Ahem! Johnathon is a pilot, and can teleport a vessel through space using him brain!
sorry meant 1st degree but 1st is medical and scientific and 2nd is astromech and technical.
whats a 2st degree?
i think a seeker/courier droid might work, it flies and could relay data back to the party. as a backup i think its armed with a small blaster but it could probably be given training with computers/mechanics. i think mechanics/use computer is the only skill the party is lacking in. trevor is a pilot and andy is a healer.
a 2st degree droid would fit what we want/need too.
Question: wheres the Hurglic?
I’m not sure where he is or if we still have him but I think that we need to think of something to assist in our limited skill set. Me and Jon were thinking of getting some droidified equipment to help with some use computer and mechanics, but heres another idea I was thinking of today.
What if we pitched in to get something along the lines of a pit droid. Not the exact model because they’re not very intelligent but if we made one very similar. I went thru the indexes and picked out some droid upgrades that I think would fit our needs.
Small 2nd degree droid (they get a bonus to their intelligence)
Walking or even flying, if we wanted, locomotion
2 hand appendages as they can manipulate things better and therefore take no penelty
Vocabulator so it can talk to us
Autotheft comlink locator. Why not just incase
Spring loaded mechanism, just incase again
Secondary battery so we don’t have to worry too much about uptime for the droid
Collapsible construction. It like puts the droid in standby and reduces its size by one category. So if we made it a small droid, when collapsed it would be a tiny. One of us could carry it on our back say and pop it out when we need it.
Just an idea. Thought about it and ran it past Luke and he suggested to put it out there for everyone to comment on. Let me know what you think.
We should crank up some Hal and Oats for when and if he makes a return appearance.
I think Jankins is my favorite character that Trevor has played so far, an alcoholic bith PI. Classic.
My body is ready.
And my character is to.
i hope you guys are ready for a good kick butt game on friday. there are a lot of things in store for you all…
Strythus fell in battle and became MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU COULD POSSIBLY IMAGINE!! He’s twice as dangerous than some crippled old blue shiny. And he can punch through people as he demonstrated last time he showed up.
But yeah a memorial section would be appropriate. I was thinking at work how the original party fell apart one by one, Drayken became a politician, Lorac and Shaun Connery went underground while working for a jerk, Sobrask went back in time, Strythus died in battle and then became a Star Dragon follower, and Barry became a privateer captain under Drayken. Did I forget anyone? I didn’t count Bucks swordsman character because he “died” in his first session.
We need like a dead character…i mean memorial section of the character tab for all those that have been lost to battle. And a place for PCs that are not currently in play.
I demand retroactive force points spent on saving Bard from critty death! He got hit with 4 death dealing crits that were… mitigated… by the force. Where is a lawyer when you need one? Oh the sewers you say? I joke of course, maybe instead of force points I could just get a kawasaki jet ski? All the rich and attractive bothans like Tryyk Melan have them. Ohh that reminds me, in the comming grumpy force retarded… retardent?… force immune Fuzzy Thong invasion Trykk Melan will possibly be making a supercool cameo. NEWeighs, I don’t really want any force points… a destiny point would be cool but I doubt I could get that, so I’m going to settle for 3 krayt dragon pearls and a toy kawasaki jet ski. AND a kilo of ryl. You know, for medicinial purposes.
yeah, i’ll say that im pretty excited about it, this means that our characters will no longer always be lost to crits. but instead just severely wounded.
Egg on my face, in regards to my last post.
Bucks actual face
Me: Hey Buck, bad news!
Me:When you roll a 20 on an attack roll, it’s an auto hit and you do double damage, but you still have to make a damage roll. Crit’s don’t do auto double max damage. Check criticals on the combat section if you don’t believe me.
Five minutes later, Buck’s face:http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/2144/1290917833749.jpg

So whatever happened to Sobrask after he stepped into the gate? Better head over to the adventure log to find out!
oh, wait a minute. redemption encounter, like where i redeem bottles and cans and get 5 cents each?
Ack! well it’s a good thing i have you GMing to catch all these things! hey, don’t i get a warning for each seperate item? promise i wont do it again =)
Everytime I catch you cheating, there will be a redemption encounter. I have something special lined up for you.
ACK! Jon, you’re supposed to catch these things. I’ll update my char sheet with that in the notes.
Caught Luke cheating AGAIN. The shock stick does STUN damage, so after you add it up and compare against the targets damage threshold, you half it. Way to go Luke.
I can never be completely sure about how the players enjoy the sessions, but the last game was EPIC!!! That had to be my favorite session so far, and a fitting epic conclusion to a long storyline. Does anyone remember how many months it went on for? I really hope you guys had fun, and for those that couldn’t make it, I’m sorry you missed it.
Tomorrow seems like it will be fun :D
I typed in 9 or 10 lines of spaces, but unfortunately Obsidian portal has goofy formatting scripts. Ah well I tried.
well you didnt give a whole lotta room for spoilers, mr spoily pants…
If you thought the last game was a slugfest, then hang on to your hat for the next game. It’s going to be a maelstrom of carnage. If you guys can pull it off, you’ll be able to do some serious good for the people of the Star Wars galaxy. Think about how you all can work together, think about what strategy’s will keep you going in a tough fight. It’s going to be an epic wild ride!
I just finished the basic writing of the session, and now all I have to do is polish the details to fully flesh it out so that hopefully it will be an enjoyable experience.
Since it looks like there will only be 3 of you, think about what you want to do with the Herglic to get him up to snuff, your going to need him to back you up in this one.
I really hope you guys can win this one, as it’s finally time for a big showdown.
WARNING SCROLL DOWN FOR SPOILERS
Andy and maybe Luke will have a chance to take a HUGE step toward achieving their destiny’s.
Followers can be helpful in the right situation. Say for instance you need to open a set of blast doors while in a shootout with a pack of storm troopers. You use your standard action to attack, but you can sacrifice a move action to have your follower start to slice or use mechanics on the doors to get them to open, thereby giving you and your team an escape route.
Jon, can you help me make a follower? I’ve been thinking about the follower talents but I can’t seem to understand them. do they gain levels and XP? do they gain HP? from the base stats it seems like a follower is going to die the minute they hit combat, let me know if i’m reading it wrong.
Remember those CL4 Dashades with heavy blaster rifles? Remember how tough they were? The average player level is now 9, I get to upgrade my creations.
My face: http://yfrog.com/9f1263152446733j
Good question, you’ll just have to wait and see.
sorry bout that extra post
So what is there left for us to do after we get out of the sword and go out to the ocean to solve the problems there?
Whenever Bard uses ‘rebuke’ properly I hear the music and lyrics from “wannabe” from the spice girls
Whenever we all make stealth checks I always imagine the scene from Blue Harvest where the good guys are sneaking past the guards with Minnie the Moocher playing in the background.
For this week neither Friday or Saturday work for me, so its up to you guys. I think the following week Saturday should work for me though
Agreedn with Jon, our meeting is at 230 now and is about to move up to 5 in 2011. Friday nights may work out or saturdays.
I would really like to avoid Sundays for games. It can be a bit hectic between meeting schedules and commuting. Especially since Luke’s meeting time either is or is about to be so late in the day. He’ll have to confirm that, but since his congregation shares a kingdom hall with a couple of others Sundays aren’t the best day for him. And for me either. For those of us with families it can be a bit of a logistical problem. That and then I’ll be out late on a Sunday and have work the next day.
whose up for a game on Sunday?
Requesting that everyone update their characters. I want to double check everyone’s stats and abilities for game balancing purposes. I also want to double check skills so I can try and craft some more skill challenges that cater to the party’s skill sets.
Well if one of your team members keeps blasting people with Lightning, he’ll either run into serious health issues, or get run out of town by your companions.
But if all of you guys were to get together again, that would be a dangerous mix.
i mean, unshoppable. not sold in any store.
i dont think that i can outpower your NPCs, i just think that with 1 force user gripping and reducing them to a standard, the other blasting them with lightning, a trando gunner critting on 19 and 20s and a star frisbee player giving autographs, well… we’re unstoppable.
Luke wrote:“Because rolling 4dd10 or 4d8 when adjacent wasn’t good enough, i took assured attack so i can reroll my lowest damage die. time to crush things!”
Luke thinks he can outpower my glorious NPC’s with four measly D10’s.
My face: http://yfrog.com/181286840961713j
Because rolling 4dd10 or 4d8 when adjacent wasn’t good enough, i took assured attack so i can reroll my lowest damage die. time to crush things!
Note to players. Don’t be shy about reminding me about condition track status. And when you dish out a major hit don’t feel bad about asking if your opponent got knocked down the track.
that or sunday might work. Whichever works better for everyone
Man i havent played in forever!!! Game at my place, Friday (Nov 5th) at 4. That work for people?
Andy wanted to know about possible game time this weekend. If everyone could please post when they are available and we can start negotiations. As far as a place it’s me and Trevors turn to host. We’ll need to iron out a definite as to a location.
Min Lo Lawyer
Rorryk Screamer and table flipper
Kernel likes to throw large objects with his mind
Ploon ultimate frisby champion in 12 systems
Jon Baity-Internet Troll
There you go Luke, and I did it with only a half a step taken back.
can we take a step back and summarize our party? i’d like for everyone to point out what their character does so we can clarify our purposes. for example i am a fighter with a touch of medic/mechanic. buck seems to be a warrior with his mind. sobrask is a very strange trandoshan pistoleer with stealth, acrobatics, mechanics and computer skills.
maybe the next game ill plant a tree
You weren’t at the last game Luke. But if you want to get technical, you recovered the weapon, and you saved a Herglic.
we accomplished 2 things yesterday?
New option, I posed this to Erick and Trevor on the ride home.
Question 1:What did you learn in game?
Question 2:What did you learn out of game?
Your answers to these questions could net you some rewards potentially. Take some time to really think about what you’ve learned about things on Ordoga, and when you have a chance post up your answers. This could also be helpful to all of us to make better use of the time we have to game.
First off, it’s spelled J-O-N. There’s your first lesson. As far as an update, there are two things to consider.1 after 5 hours only two things were accomplished. The second is that you’ll find out why when the next game starts up.
WHERE is MY UPDATE!?!?!?!?!
How am i supposed to post witty banter without something to mock?
C’mon ppl! lets get the jamba juice going. IF JOHN doesnt update then I will, and we all know I will embellish my awesomocity to the point the story is muffled behind a fart joke. In conclusion, I need cheese to make a sandwhich and the cow wont milk.
I am master of the dorkside! I need no such thing as errata! I will make my own errata, except it will be called “the book of Awesome” free force points everyday, and move object is nerfed so that force lightning looks… delicios… mhmm the charred flesh of enemies and acrobatic strike will give you +2 but +6 if you focus! And move object will target your reflex, because targeting your will makes no sense, NO SENSE! and Sith will talents will not be lost if you rejoin the lightside, just merely altered. AND alter powers will be both banned and encouraged?!?!? and Drayken will be forced to wear a tutu. AND ALL WILL BOW BEFORE THE GREAT POPSICLE KING: R2-D2!
download link for the 2008 errata document
Most recent Errata document that I’ve been able to find is here: http://swrpgrc.com/files/Saga%20Edition%20Resources/SE%20Errata.pdf
Looks like we all have some reading to do. I’m going to do my best to keep in mind whatever changes will affect the players and NPC’s. The only two that caught my eye so far is that Acrobatic strike was knocked down to a +2 bonus instead of 5,and Force Grip is vs the damage threshold and can only be done within 6 squares. If you have the time, please give it a look.
I thought everyone knew about the force powers being level 1, 3, 6, 9…. I guess I’ve been a Jedi too long, time to go SITH! Peace is a lie
Seriously though, you guys should take a few minutes and check out this page,
there are a lot of rules clarifications on there.
Hahaha! Perfect responce!
Just realized that Luke’s damage output for double attacking with gun club/bayonet will drop by 6 points.
Q: Do you apply your condition track penalties to your threshold since they lower your Fortitude Defense?
A: Yes. Any modifiers applied to your Fortitude Defense should also effect your threshold (even temporary ones), be they from armor, the condition track, ability score increases, etc.
Update on spending force points to remove dark side points. If during a pivotal storyline battle the players are allowed to spend a force point as a swift action to remove a dark side point. Barring that circumstance atonement will require a significant amount of time. And you’ll have to behave for an expended amount of time. You won’t be allowed to simply burn up unused force points to remove multiple dark side marks, they will only be allowed to be worked off one at a time.
Bad news everyone, Force Training can only be taken with non class feat selections. You can’t take it using a bonus feat as a Jedi or any other class. Just on non class feat levels, such as 1,3,6,9 ect, or as a human bonus feat.
I never paid enough attention to the bonus feat selection lists for the classes.
Checked the rules update, Force Grip does no damage if it doesn’t beat the fortitude threshold, and also you won’t be able to maintain it. You jerks cheated your way to victory once again.
I got it! make a space ship, out of fences! we’ll be unstoppable
Came up with an ultimate skill challenge with a little help from Ryan.
Party has to get to a bomb and diffuse it. First they have to get over a fence, on the other side of the fence is a bulkhead, after the bulkhead is a locked car with the windows rolled up. Inside of the car on the front passenger seat is the bomb.
That should eat up a couple hours of gametime next session easily.=p
Very important stuff in there. A ton of updates for spelling errors and rule updates for the core rulebook that are official.
Quick note, the next session will pick up from where we left off at the fountain shootout.
yeah, thats why his name is “Dh’ang”
Anyone looked at Andy’s character for the military game? Holy direct assault batman! 18’s for his physicals, what race is he?
Drayken mart won’t be opening for two or three sessions. But it will be kept in mind.
Do I get a rewards card at Draykenmart? JKLOLROFLPCPJRRTOLKIENAFKJPLPFUNKYNYC
I am ready to become a Sith… or am I? Darkness. Lightness? WoooOoooOooo? I’m a creepy Givin ooogly boogly.
-I’m the best at what Buck does
Updated the Wiki section with the official rewards program. There will be more details at the next game. Feel free to post any questions you have.
Good find Ryan.
http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/6Yu6ns/www.inudge.net/ forgot to put the link sorry, my bad
Jon, this one is pretty much the same, only with multiple instruments and i believe it has a kind of sudo save, you can email it to others.
I wish there was a way to record the stuff I’ve come up with on there.
i would say that is a pretty cool toy!
Thought you all would have some fun with this. Luke, you should totally get Heather into this.
ryan – you’re way cooler than a jedi knight. you’re an ultimate frisbee superstar.
i think we’re over looking a very important talent/prestige class, the sith apprentice. HELLLOOOOOOO!? dark healing to suck life from enemies and give to yourself, shweet!
There might be something like that happening in the near future. Maybe, when I work out all of the bugs.
i always thought it would be neat to have a save feature, kinda like in video games where you can go back and load your last saved game, or get a checkpoint
You also have access to the Lowkuum holocron I suppose, so go right ahead and swap out your “Gay” talent.
As far as a T.P.K, given what the party on the whole has accomplished, as well as the strong bond between Drayken and Strythus, it was perfectly plausible for there to be divine intervention. But it was made clear that it can’t happen again. So if there is another TPK, unless there is plausible reason for a save, everybody dies.
hey trev, chin up dude. we’re back from the dead and we’re gonna bring the pain. read your email =p
Can I swap out that forcce suppression ability I have, it’s lame, and I want a more traditional …talent. My Dark Givin guy needs a more offensive ability. He is supposed to be a lot cooler, and people not remembering who you are is probly just gonna turn out to be inconvienent. In conclusion, I picked a gay talent, and want to fix that. I’m a hunter, not a prey.
Anywho, that game was brutal. I can feel the blackhole of suck turning us into a singularity of disfunctionality. My recomendation for the future, kill the party when you get a TPK. Kill em good.
-I’m the best at what buck does
Lowkuum has done quite a bit of traveling, and picked up a few things.
oh my! thats one amazing magical box
But you can take from the weapon master talent tree thanks to the Holocron.
yeah its pretty tough and i’d need to be trained in the ways of the jedi or something along those lines, but anyways, yeah i dont have access to those talents because Im not a jedi knight.
The Jedi Book lists them as Weapon Master Talents. I might be misunderstanding what your trying to say though. Either way Jedi Knights do have access to some nice talents for Light Sabers, but the requirements for Jedi Knight are pretty steep, and since your character isn’t a follower of the Jedi Order he wouldn’t be able to qualify for it.
They’re also Knight talents
Jedi book page 21. Combat Trance, Twin Weapon Style,Twin Weapon Mastery.
Those can really beef up your melee game.
and jon what talents are you referring to?
The only reason i would be prestige is for things in the force adept talent tree
i’ll say that ive never prestiged before, the military campaign guy is my first one ever, in some cases there are enough good feats and talents to the standard classes and prestiging just doesnt cut it.
You can make a perfectly fine character without a prestige class, but if a prestige fits your character vision then that’s another story. What prestige were you thinking of?
There are also battlemaster jedi talents that allow you to attack two separate targets without any penalty. You could then discblade one guy, and stab another. Check the talents in the Jedi book. That might be a nice fit for your character.
ok, granted at this point Im not duel weapon fighting, just presenting multiple attack options at once. The way i work it, unless i avoid a prestige for a while, i wont be able to get into duel weapon mastery until a good few levels
I was reading up on dual mastery in the core rulebook and there was no mention of fighting with your off hand. Technically there would be a penalty, but since the rule makers didn’t feel like getting into handiness we have a nice little loophole to play with. It isn’t game breaking by any means, so unless someone finds a rule on it, there are no penalties for off hand fighting.
thankfully i only had one discblade on me. sadly i lost my lightsaber too. darn.
also, anyone know anything about off-hand fighting?
It would seem that Strythus and the other mysterious man that rescued you were more concerned with your lives than with your possessions. None of your gear was recovered sadly.
On a personal note I’m not happy about it either, Drayken lost some of his cool gear in there.
Was all of our equipment recovered in our rescue?
Unless something requires it, each session will be considered to be a few days apart from the last. That way if any of you wish to do in between things online with me you will be able to without messing with game continuity. So if any of you want to try and get any non essential stuff done in between sessions you’ll be able to. You can contact me here, or on MSN messenger. That way by the next game you’ll be able to get side stuff done, do some investigating, buy ammo and gear, and have everything ready to go by the next game. Any questions don’t hesitate to ask me.
cool. also, check the rebellion era book, it discusses in there training other people to do a task. it might be handy for the near future.
After reading through the skill section, unless someone finds a specific spot in the rule book crits only apply to attack rolls. Force powers and skill checks won’t count for crits, so when your making skill checks and trying to lift up monster trucks and throw them, even on a twenty you’ll need to add it up and declare the result.
Indeed, you wake up. The only time there may be a complication is if there is evil force ju ju at work.
no? i thought you just wake up. did you mention something about the subconcious being more prepared next time?
Did anyone remember what was explained about what happens when you “Die” in a dream? With the exception of evil force juju being at play?
1. Never assume, because you know what happens when you assume. and
2. Stay with us and don’t throw a cuffed and bound Kel Dor jedi with mediocre force powers and no means of attacking into the middle of a bunch of thugs so that he can’t withdraw. Hopefully things will go better next week.
As a side note, I had to spend 3 of my force points just yesterday to stabilize myself, once in the dream and twice with the thugs. This never would have happened to Strythus haha
The ruling last night was that you can’t withdraw into a threatened square. But the clarification is noted. Thanks Luke.
side note: i think we may have missed this. you can withdraw at half your speed, but you have to be able to move to a non-threatened square first. this wouldnt have helped ryan last night, but it may help in the future if you wanted to withdraw and then turn a corner and get some cover.
just as bad as getting dark side points for spending a destiny point to kill a rancor with a lightsaber =p
Yesterday was one of the worst things I’ve ever seen in a game. To compound it I can’t help but ask was it my fault, and then I think about the general strategy that the party opted for, and I realize that I wasn’t solely responsible. I could offer specific points of where mistakes were made, but I won’t, apparently I’ve been helping to much.
To spin a positive out of this, think about what could have been done differently to give you a better chance of success. I sincerely hope the next game goes better.
man yesterday was brutal
today will be known as the day the GM got his revenge.
ah, disregard that comment about the ship. i dropped the wealth talent so that i could better my team.
Just sow everyone knows, it is going to be at my house on Sunday at around 4.
That link should supply all with the index files, and the attack and damage guideline card that Ryan was nice enough to take the time to make.
my email is firstname.lastname@example.org
-i am the Best at what Buck does
is it 10k + whatever your starting credits are? also can someone print me a character sheet please?
Trev, I have Index files for all the books but Unknown Regions. Do you have somewhere I can send them?
10k… I don’t have the scum and villiany book (looking at john disapprovingly even though it’s his fault john has it) but I’m gonna assume nuetronium plated combat gloves cost less than 4k. Please tell me if they’d be more…or less… or just tell me the cost…yeah…
Anyhoo, I believe there is a shadow suit or something like that enhances stealth, please tell me if that exists and the cost.
Also, if there is ANY info on hacking gear (slicing) please tell me, I’m really in need of it.
BASICLY, anything to do with computers, stealth, mechanics and hand-to-hand combat.
I wonder if I could put spikes on my headtails? That would make listening to metal difficult.
I do believe I am rambling, but I might buy a droid (albeit a crappy one) if it appears an option. He’ll be like the team mascot… better yet, I could buy a tauntaun! Or a vornskyr? Or a rancor?!??!?!?!!!!?!
Address my questions you… you… question knower… secret dude
Finally, I need to know my characters faction. ATF? CIA? IMPERIAL? REBEL? NEW/OLD REPUBLIC… Yuzzaan thong? Captain Crunch Brigade?
If I don’t know my group, how am I suppose to write a compelling history? HUH? Mr.secret pants?
I WONT! thats how.
-I am the best at what Buck does
yeah, finally someone that posts as often as i do… so what skills does everyone have? im gonna be a noble and i dont want to double up on skills too much if i dont have to.
Trevor is truly what this campaign page was missing.
I don’t want a pony, I want a Tauntaun! And mine wont smell even if you cut it open! I like exclamation marks!!!
and i will likely have a personal ship
trevor says he wants a pony
10K budget Trevor, and you can get up to military grade tech. If there’s something you need that’s outside of that let me know and we can discuss.
Wooo- hooo I am an official member!
You shall all feel the wrath of Trevor. Pitiful humans, you must all die!
Ok, now that I go that outa my system, I need to know exactly how much funding my character gets, and can I buy military or illegal items and upgrades? I basically want a lot of little stuff, and some nuetronium reinforced combat gloves.
Plus, do we own a ship? And if so, I invite my cousin and T-pain
I suggest you continue being the best at what Buck does.
I need help with this site when joining and such.
Anyways, my character concept for the military campaign, is Scout3/Soldier1/Scoundrel3/Infaltrator2
I’m still ironing out the quirks, but lets just say he’s like batman.
Any suggestions for me to ignore?
Thats it for now
cool, im gonna start on my noble/officer/crimelord/whatever else is a noble prestige class
Just so everyone knows, I talked to Trevor today, and he just about has his character done. He’s going to be a stealth tech guy. Sneaking in and disabling security systems, and the occasional guard. I think him and Buck will work well together for infiltration parts, especially if backed up by Ryans sniping skills.
Next week on Battledome 5000, Buck vs Shrub in a wonder bread death match, it’s the fight of the century!
Buck> or a bag of wonder bread…
No good on the garrotte. I would have a -15. -5 for a grab, -5 for exotic, and -5 for my size. I doubt I could garrotte a shrub.
I’m not saying anything about alignments, but just make sure that you all will be able to work together. The important thing in this is teamwork. The ability of the C.O to give solid commands and for the team to follow them. You’ll need to be able to use your strengths to cover for your partners weaknesses.
Currently I have yet to read about the various background stuff in the scum and villainy book, so I wasn’t planning on that being factored in. If you want to have a gruff disposition and be mean, or be a moral high ground type is totally up to you. But your a team, an honest to goodness tight unit that has been operating together for a decent period of time.
alright, so is this new specialist team going to be a good guy police squad or is it a bad guy mafia team? are there roles being assigned (like in the rebellion era book that dictates squad roles)? i’m going to go the way of a commanding officer guy, so probably a level or 2 of scout/scoundrel/soldier and then the rest being noble/officer/crimelord.
as an FYI, my assembly is saturday the 25th and i’ll be away until Tuesday 09/28
Jon, my house is open for Sunday I believe but I know that Andrew wanted to have it at his house every so often too so give him a call and see if it is. If not, like I said, I think my house is good.
Trevor is on board for Sunday, sorry Buck, I guess we’ll miss you this time around. Hopefully next week we can get everybody on board.
Yup, and garrotes (from what i’ve read) can snap necks pretty easily.
OR, you could get a garrote. If you can hit you drag him down the track, and since he’s being choked he can’t exactly scream for help. You’d just have to hop up a little since your a little critter. But if you want to be stealthy and up close and personal, you should get a garrote. It’s on page 59 of the clone wars book. Only downside is that it’s an exotic weapon, so you’d get what a -5 to your attack? But to counter that ideally your target would be flat footed and you have some surprise attack skills. If your clearing out fodder it wouldn’t be a bad idea to at least have it on you.
Yessir. buck, you could get a silenced slugthrower, those are pretty quiet, they have a -10 to perception whereas a cloaked blaster is -5. remember too that sneak attack works on ranged attacks within 6 squares.
Yeah I forgot about that, thanks Luke. I’ll need to brush up on that section again. But basically if Buck is a close range guy, it couldn’t hurt to have a gun for those times that your next victim is just out of reach for melee.
As for our game I’m leaning towards Sunday since I really want Trevor and Luke to be there for something I had planned, but was unable to do since there were missing pieces. I’ll call Trevor and see what he says.
or a hold out blaster! and maybe a sporting blaster for sniping.
Jon – FYI there is an errata regarding accurate and innaccurate weapons. certain weapons are marked as accurate or inaccurate meaning they can/cant shoot at targets more than such a range. its referenced in the equipment section of the books to a very small degree
yeah i like your new guy buck. i bet a Darter would be perfect for him
Everyone who has access to the scum and villainy book would do well to check out the upgrade section. Most of you probably know about the custom mods I added in that Hammer can do for you, but for your military team you should definitely check them out.
If someone was going to be a heavy gunner, or even for Ryan’s sniper the Bipod could do you some good. Also I have the sniper rifles I added into the picture section you can check out.
Ryan sent me a link to a couple of guns he would potentially have in interest in using and I’m going to write up some stats for them, if something catches your eye that you would want to use send me some material and I’ll see what I can do about making some stats for it.
You call those stats low? Silly man. But anyway I have a small piece of advise.
BUY A GUN!
I love the melee thing, but you should have a gun on you when you try to sneak up on someone and you fail. Also there is the possibility that you take someone out and you get spotted, or maybe when the situation calls for a direct assault. Having a heavy blaster pistol on your side and maybe a vibro dagger or two is the way to go. Kudo’s on picking that race, looks good for sneaking around at night.
My guy for the military team is up. He’s a hitter, centered around sneaking up and getting one crippling blow in. Didn’t work out as well as I hoped because I rolled sorta low on the stats. :( (And yes, I was honest about them even though they were rolled in secret.)
we have plans saturday, and heather is getting her hair done at His n Hers in the morning!
Well if Bucky can’t do Sunday, is it possible for us to meet on Saturday, or do we have to go on one man down on Sunday? Please let me know, and I’ll send a group mail out just in case.
Can’t make it on Sunday.
It’s Ryans turn to host unless everyone actually wants to come to my place.
Feel free to select a safe word, but keep in mind that I will reserve the right to ignore it.
nice, do you think maybe we should have a safe word? “PUMPKIN PATCH!” its at your place right?
So I have some stuff planned for Sunday, I just hope I can execute it in a way that’s entertaining for everyone.
Oh and I’m looking forward to pummeling all of you into submission. :-)
All I’m going to say is that you are a military unit. The rest is going to be a surprise.
so is this really a swat team or can we be any time of group?
Reposting an earlier comment for the Buck
I was thinking Level 9 would give just about every role access to the second level of a prestige class. I’m not sure about medic, but Elite Soldier, Infiltrator, and I think the Prestige Slicer group and military engineer can be reached by level 8. If I’ll look into it but if I’m wrong let me know.
So what level are we making our characters at for the side story?
we’ll see what role i end up with. i may end up just taking a subrepeating blaster paired with some awesome tech.
I made stats up for a couple of slug thrower sniper rifles, Strythus had one. But I figured 10K since I’m not familiar with weapon and armor costs. It’s practical that all of you would have blaster weapons and what not. I was thinking that most of you might use the clone trooper blasters that have the nozzles that you can switch out. The gun has a blaster mode, a rifle mode, a sniper mode, and a grenade launcher mode. It would be perfect for you guys.
ryan, you gotta simplify. maybe you should get a slugthrower sniper rifle. not that it exists, but im sure jon could make up some stats.
and im probably not going to spend all 10k…for once
well its a sniper rifle. its kinda needed for my occupation haha
10K. Because Ryan doesn’t know how to simplify ;)
Any extra money goes into a pool.
what ryan said, 2000 probably wont get you much. unless we go by the organization feat from the force unleashed book (or it could be the rebellion era book) and we create our own organization, in which case the leader (probably a noble) could spot players cash to a degree and the organization could provide stuff (to a degree). i think a limit of 3000 would be appropriate, you can get most blaster weapons, a cheap suit of armor and some ammo or grenades.
2000 is just the price of my gun…
One of my posts got mixed up last night when the site went down for maintenance.
So to answer Ryans legit question, you have a budget of 2000 credits for military grade tech. Luke if that’s overkill let me know.
The idea is for you all to have a primary weapon for your focus, and a sidearm which may or may not be a combat knife.
well he never really said “SWAT Team” he said to make a party. we could be an elite pirate gang that goes around causing trouble. i think we should forget about this whole saving people bit and board other ships and such, there’d still be a need for specific roles. =)
what weapons, equipment, and armor are we allowed for the swat team characters?
Lol! You got me good Ryan.
i stopped reading at explosives…
you forget kittens with lasers on their heads.
Explosives, an assortment of automatic and non automatic weapons, high powered armor, binoculars, ascension guns built into heavy blaster rifles, bacta shots, combat gloves, vibro blades, thermal detonators, concussion grenades, the list goes on and on.
money is only as good as the things you can buy with it
Im very curious to see where it went
Soon you’ll find out where a bunch of it went. I just hope you catch it.
aww all my money :(
Your new character doesn’t know them, so he wouldn’t know, but for your information they’re still around. They had a weekly salary that was being billed to Strythus, and since Drayken would have taken all of your money, he took over payroll for them.
So whats happening to BL and Knuckles now that they have no leader and no one to their check? just thought of it
I was trying to suggest that you divvy up primary and secondary abilities as you all see fit. The primary focuses should be spread out as far as who is the team leader, who is the sniper, who is the slicer ect. But as far as secondary’s go I was suggesting that you mix those up as you see fit. That way if someone beat you to the class you wanted to do, pick it as your secondary so you still get to do it, just not as well as who ever picked it as a primary.
In the end as long as you guys are happy with how your characters come out, and you have a balanced team that can cover military styled missions and skill challenges that’s all that matters.
we can talk next game, just so we’re all on the same page
i’ll take last pick, i’ve been a sneaky guy, heavy weapons, demo and part slicer/techie. i havent been a medic or mastermind yet
ok, so this is what we’re doing.
Lvl 9 Military Squad.
Demolitions/heavy weapons expert
And so therefore, Buck is mastermind/shooter, I’m sneaky/sniper guy, and Luke is tech/slicer? And Andrew and Trevor can pick either of the medic or demolition/heavy weapons expert. Andrew is sitting with me right now and said that maybe he could be the medic, which I think would be good. Is what I’m saying right or am I mixed up?
so i could go up to level 12 then decide to prestige? haha so like level 9 then?
For levels, level the characters up to the second level of whatever prestige class your going for.
probably soldier then scout, lots of powerful stealth talents. i have a hard time justifying any starting class besides soldier/jedi just because of the low low HP. but one day, i will try.
Multi-class in scoundrel and soldier, soldier first?
so you’re gonna snipe and what else? youll probably need to have stealth and deception still to take the asassin tree.
oh man, you gonna take the assassin prestige class?
you could start off with soldier, then just before saboteur go into scoundrel and take fools luck (+1 attack, +1 def or +5 skill checks for an encounter)
hmm, you know what? i think i’m going to go with sniper. Buck can take demo expert if he wants
Kill ‘em all? and i need deception for saboteur. nice placed explosives talents
i think it can, but it should specify under either the fee or the skills section. either way, as a soldier you’d have mechanics, endurance, init, perception and kill ‘em all as class skills
now i have a question, when i take a skill training as a feat, can it be any skill?
pffft, human shuman. the intelligence will give you an extra 2 trained skills. in addition to whatever your rolls are, and for a soldier youll probably clear the key soldier skills.
that or a human for the extra feat
then doooooooo it!!!! maybe buck will want to be the trando that beats things. you gonna be another cerean? or might i reccommend a chiss for the INT boost
I kinda wanted to stick to the super artillery make big boom kinda guy.
you should try doing a melee trandoshan with a taste for making things go boom. they get a bump to their STR and a hit to their DEX. and since buck has never been a real shooter (gunslingers dont count) that might be different for him. im going to go with a noble or a techie geek
then maybe switch rifles? and only hand to hand melee characters, strythus and willy, but never a melee duelist type deal.
ryan – definitely keep pistols, they’re handy as you wont always have something to go boom. have you ever played a melee character?
may i ask what level we are bringing our characters up to, what equipment we can take and if I’m going to be using grenade launchers and stuff can i swap out WP Pistols for WP Heavy?
You did give us xp for the court case, Jon. Remember: I was complaining cause I did all the work and got the same xp as everybody else?
soldier is perfect for things to go boom. try the demolitionist talent under the commando tree which adds 2 die of damage when blowing stuff up, followed by the saboteur or military engineer for prestige class. id like to be a computer guy, i’ve been itchin for that since Lorac was around
If you can Ryan, try doing heavy weapons as your secondary, like grenade launchers and autofire weapons. You won’t need to focus on accuracy since your deal is stuff that goes boom. And if you guys all went for decent armor proficiencies, you could totally do a heavy infantry commando team. That would be awesome!
Would anyone mind if i claimed demolition expert? i would love to mess around with that, considering most of my characters have just been powerhouses and i’d like to try something out.
Maybe it could be like (if any of you have played it) a Republic Commando squad. Boss is the commander and shooter, Scorch is the demo expert, Fixer is the tech guy, and Sev is the sniper. Maybe if we did that plus like a medic or something else that might work.
Ryans right, a demolition guy would be a nice fit as well. And since there are so many roles but only so many of you, you could brake it up as a primary and secondary role. Sniper/Demolition, Shooter/Hitter, Mastermind/Slicer and so on. That way if two people want the same role, there will be room for both, only one of you will be better at it. It will also give you the chance to focus your stats. Instead of having to worry about being well rounded, just stick to your focus and make that your goal, and whatever you can do on the secondary front is totally fine.
Ok, so as Jon said, he wants us to make a well rounded military team, so it’s probably best if we designate roles on here so that everyone doesn’t pick the same one.
A melee guy
A stealthy guy
A computer guy
Jon, maybe we could add a demolition expert too? I’d kinda like to take that if i could.
i dont recall specifically if we did, but you’re welcome to give it to us just to be safe =)
Did you guys get experience for the court case?
If there are some custom weapons you would like to see in game, let me know. Send me a picture and I’ll work up some stats for it if I can’t find something similar in the books. I do take requests.
I JUST FINISHED! LETS SEE YOU RECAP OVER 15 HOURS OF GAMING!
i dont see the recap yet, are you slacking again?
So somewhere along the line, someone thought it would be a good idea to play an overnight game. We would up starting around 4:00pm in the afternoon, and around 5:30 am from what I hear we quit after we couldn’t quite keep awake any longer. 4 or 5 hours later there we were back around the table rolling dice again. A lot of ground was covered, and a lot of fun(at least by me) was had. So after you read the recap, if you notice something was missed, or even if you want to share your favorite moments where you shone as brightly as the sun, feel free to post about it.
Just read Luke’s update of Rory. I will use internet slang to describe my reaction to portions of it:”LOL.”
Sobrask and Juggernaut are in for some trouble if they’re not careful.
i’d also like to find a way to make some small amounts of fast cash, i could use a couple hundred creds
This is something Luke sent me:
“Things I’d like to see Long range battles – battles that take place at more than short range which would require a lot of stealth by the party, or long range weapons.”
He also went on to mention vehicular battles. Andy, and Trevor have been there for some of the vehicle battles I’ve done, but I wasn’t very happy with how they turned out and I got discouraged and haven’t done one since. But after this feedback I’m going to go back to the drawing board and start it up again.
Feel free to post some comments on things that you would like to see in the game, and I’ll see what I can do.
